A perfect day for being on the range, sunny and
pleasant, greeted the 38 shooters who came out for the second round of rifle
matches of the season at Crooked Creek.
Gere Goodenberger came from all the way from Oklahoma to shoot with us (not
really) and took home a silver pin with his Garand. I'm not for sure, but
I think Gere's score was the best Garand score ever posted at Crooked Creek.
Good shooting. The next time you're in the area, please join us again.
Match results are attached.
Mark your calendars for 19 June, because we're going to do it again at Crooked
Creek.
We will also be hosting the only Garand-Springfield-Military Rifle clinic for
this year. If you've been wanting to shoot that Garand, Carbine,
Springfield, or other vintage military rifle, this clinic will teach you how to
do so safely. Advance reservations for the clinic are required. Call
me at 440-354-9984 or email me at dhelwick4@att.net.
Because of the clinic, the Garand/Service Rifle matches will be limited to 0900
and 1030 relays. Advance reservations are recommended. Clinic
participants will take over the 100-yard range at 1200 for live-fire practice
and then shoot their match at 1330. If there is space on the line at 1330,
others may shoot, but we're not taking reservations for that relay.
Of course, we'll have the regular Rimfire Sporter matches. No clinics or
other events this month so we'll have full use of both ranges. Come on out
and fill 'em up!
Thanks to everyone who came out to shoot with us in May and to our volunteers,
without whom we couldn't do what we do as well as we do it.
C-ya on the range.
